Graphic Designer – Part-time – Invercargill

We are looking for a graphic designer with a recognised tertiary qualification in graphic design or visual communication to join our team.

You will have strong creative skills and a portfolio of work which demonstrates your passion for all things design. You will have experiences in working with numerous different design platforms such as digital and print forms and be comfortable taking the lead as well as meeting the challenges of a small studio.

Do you have good communication and time management skills, accurate and attentive to detail and show a professional attitude in all elements of work?  This may be the job for you.

You will need to be proficient in the full Adobe Creative Suite, (in particular Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator) and Microsoft Office.

Approximately 20-24 hours per week.  These hours can be worked over three solid days or afternoons over 5 days. This position is initially part-time with the potential to become full-time for the right person in the future.

A snap-shot of the responsibilities include:

  • Create compelling and effective logos, designs, print and digital media
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure consistency of designs across various media outlets
  • Create and develop graphic elements and layouts for print, digital and social marketing
  • To manage client projects and participate in the creative briefing and review of projects in a professional manner
  • Project manage website development and social media platform designs
  • Ability to prepare copy, edit and proof read all types of material
  • Assist with internal marketing initiatives

Desired Skills / Experience

  • Have work experience within the creative industry is preferable but not essential
  • Photographic and video production would be an advantage
  • Excellent grasp of the English language including punctuation
  • High level of detail and accuracy
  • Strong publication and layout design ability
  • Ability to work under pressure to deadlines
  • Maintain awareness of current industry and technology standards, social media, competitive landscape and market trends

You must have a valid and suitable NZ Work Visa and holder a New Zealand driver’s license to be considered for this role.
